Joe Jordan is a contemporary troubadour whose charisma, optimistic attitude, and electrifying personality embodies all those around him. With a 6-string in his hand and a mind for innovation, Joe’s flow can resemble that of a blues man, a folk player, a raunchy rock riffer, or a very soulful blend of all of the above. In fact,we think its safe to say Joe’s range in music reaches everything from heavy metal to hip-hop. He has been playing the guitar for 12 years and has played in several prominent bands as well as collaborated with many solo artist playing a variety of instruments. Joe has played at various events and partners with many premiere artist throught the Tri-state Area.
Joe is currently recording his album, Twisted Visions: “Revisted” which is a total re-working of a popular demo album recorded back in 2004. When asked why re-record an album Joe says ” The songs on the original are all so beautiful and while we got as much sound as we could out of the technology we were using at the time, we wanted to do them real justice so more people can really hear it.” When he’s not recording Joe is playing with his band, Joe Jordan’s Experiment. Recently Joe has been privileged to be host at a handful of venues in the city of Philadelphia and is currently hosting an open mic showcase at Dr. Watson’s Pub as well as “Joe Jordan & Friends” @Buckets acoustic lounge.
Early on, Joe says he was inspired by many great performers but it was Michael Jackson’s “Dirty Diana” that started it all, when asked about how he got started he says, “There was always a guitar around when I was growing up, But my hands weren’t really big enough to really attempt to play until I was 11. That Christmas a longtime friend of my mom (and my mentor), Tim Sanders bought me my first electric guitar and it has really been a part of me ever since.” Joe started his first band when he was 13 and never looked back. Joe has since put together and been part of many popular Philly bands including Preston Swift, Mighty Paradocs, Gov’t Cheaze, The Spades and Concrete Method. Joe says he looks forward to lots of collaborating with more of his favorite artists in the near future.
During the year, 2009, Joe has been performing, producing and recording all while learning and honing his craft. His attitude remains positive and he can’t wait to see what the future will bring. So, whether with his band or alone with his six string, don’t miss Joe’s next performance, or you’ll surely miss out on an amazingly mind bending experience.
